Through detailed corruption of lines, Metzli articulates a drawing that portrays the spread of fear within a political agenda.

THE WORLD IS BURNING

9” x 12”

Ink on Paper

Available: $240

This piece was quite tedious, but it was worth each line. These lilies bloomed in the backyard of my home. I wanted to represent something that signifies signs of home. If you look closely in the leaves towards the bottom, you will read “The World Is Burning”. Why? The contrast between beauty and death is something that we live with every day.

BURNING OLIVE BRANCH

9” x 12”

Ink on Paper

Available: $170

Burning Olive Branch depicts an eagle carrying a flaming olive branch, transforming a traditional symbol of peace into one of rupture and unrest. The burning branch reflects the erosion of peace in the United States, particularly in the context of state power and ICE. Rendered in ink, the stark contrast and severity of the imagery emphasize tension, loss, and the violence embedded in systems meant to protect. The piece confronts viewers with the cost of “peace” when it is upheld through harm.
